Soil Data API
Know your soil
field by field.
Pxie's soil data API gives soil properties, management zones, soil moisture and growing-season climate for any farm location, in one clean feed.
Soil and climate data is included from the Builder plan.
Coverage: Farmland and open ground worldwide.
Soil and climate data for every field.
Soil properties
pH, organic carbon, nitrogen, texture and nutrient-holding capacity at any point. Modeled values; confirm with a lab test.
Field soil maps
Average, range and variability of each property across your field boundary.
Management zones
A few relative zones within a field from bare-soil satellite imagery.
Soil moisture data
Surface and root-zone wetness with a 7-day trend.
Growing-season climate
Frost dates, season length, growing degree days and precipitation.
What each soil API tells you.
Soil properties for a point
A soil report card for any location: pH, organic carbon, nitrogen, sand, silt and clay with the texture class, nutrient-holding capacity, bulk density and coarse fragments. Ask for the topsoil or every layer down to 200 cm. Agronomists use it to plan sampling, and farm apps use it to pre-fill a field before anyone visits.
Field soil maps
Outline a field and get the average, range and variability of each property across it. A high spread is a signal in itself: the field is not uniform and is worth sampling in more than one place. Lenders and land buyers use the same numbers to compare parcels on equal terms.
Management zones
Pxie splits a field into a few distinct patches, such as a lighter, sandier corner and a darker strip, from bare-soil satellite imagery, so seed and fertilizer can vary across the field instead of treating it as one block. Zones show relative differences inside a field, not absolute chemistry.
Soil moisture
How wet the ground is right now at the surface, in the root zone and through the profile, with a 7-day trend showing whether it is drying out or wetting up. Use it to decide whether a field is ready to work or plant, and whether a crop has the water it needs. Updated daily.
Growing-season climate
Typical last spring frost and first fall frost with the one-in-ten-year risk dates, the frost-free season, growing degree days and precipitation, built year by year over a decade. It shows whether a crop has time to mature before the cold returns. These are long-run statistics for the area, not a forecast for one season.
Coverage and limits
Soil data works for farmland and open ground worldwide. Cities, lakes, rivers and permanent ice are not mapped: for those, Pxie uses the nearest mapped soil within about 2 km and says so, or returns an error that is not charged. Soil chemistry is modeled, not measured, and every response carries a confidence level.

Join the early-access list →Who uses it
- Farms and agronomists plan sampling, inputs and timing.
- Ag-tech and farm-management apps add soil and climate to every field.
- Insurers, lenders and land buyers compare parcels on the same basis.

Soil data API questions.
How accurate is the soil data?
Soil properties are modeled estimates, great for comparing and planning. Confirm with a lab test before changing inputs.
Where does the soil data API work?
Farmland and open ground worldwide. Urban areas, water and permanent ice return an error.
How is soil moisture data measured?
It is a current estimate of surface and root-zone wetness at about 50 km detail, with a 7-day trend.
Do you recommend crops?
